BBC1 Lifeline Appeal
16.01.2007
Age Concern Enfield is being featured in a BBC Lifeline TV programme as part of a national appeal for funds for Age Concern. It is one of only two local Age Concerns taking part in the programme, the other one being Age Concern Oxfordshire.
The BBC camera crew and presenter Tess Daly started their day’s filming at the Drop-in at St George’s Freezywater, where Tess chatted to many of the clients. She interviewed to camera Jim McCowen, senior manager for Community and Support Services, who gave details of the work of Age Concern in Enfield.
After spending some time at Freezywater, Tess and the camera crew went on to the Age Concern Day Centre for people with dementia in Houndsfield Road, Edmonton. She interviewed Anne Taylor, the Day Centre manager, about the work of the centre and spoke to service users.
“Tess then spent a lot of time talking to the clients,” said Anne.
The day’s filming ended with Tess making an appeal for funds on behalf of Age Concern nationally and it will be screened on Sunday 21st January 2007
